I don't know if I have a lawsuit or anything here but I want something done about this. I bought my Dad a pack of Newcastle beer about three weeks ago and found something disgusting inside a bottle he drank. Here is a link to a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QafZH9QQPxw&feature=plcp
We filed a complaint with Albertsons and Newcastle the same day I bought it with a receipt and everything. Newcastle was supposed to pick it up for analysis a week or so ago and never did. The bottle and object are still at the store. Newcastle has now stopped returning my calls.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Thank you!

generally, this falls under the "no harm, no foul" category. Your father didn't experience any ill effects, right? Then there is nothing to do but let the bottler check it out. maybe you'll get a coupon for a case of their new:

"Newcastle beer, with extras. We don't know what the stuff is but we're trying to convince everybody it's supposed to be there so we are making a big deal about it"

He said he had diarrhea after for a few days and is mentally traumatized but he is a little bit of a hypochondriac so I don't know.

hahaha that's a funny slogan though.

I'm glad you took that in the spirit with which it was intended - a bit of levity :)

But yes, since there was no harm or injury I think the best you'd get would be a coupon for another case or something.

Let me clear you that you can make the beer supplier liable to you as negligience has been proven in bottling. The presence of large object in the beer will make the manufacturer liable. You can start with demand notice and claim for compensation. However if compensation is not paid, you can file a lawsuit.

WHAT compensation?

The consumer suffered no damages. He stopped drinking before consuming the "large object". There is no negligence here because the consumer was not injured in any way.

The best OP can hope for might be a full refund or coupon for a free 6-pack or something similar. This is NOT a lawsuit lottery in which they can demand lots and lots of money for nothing.

While there is clear liability (if true), what is less clear is the damages. A replacement beer is certainly called for. Anything more is just for good will unless damages are proven. And, for the record, Newcastle is far superior to Guinness. Sure, if you were trapped in a cave and needed sustenance to survive, Guinness might be better. Me, I prefer to not chew my beer.
