What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Rhode Island

A little bit about myself. I married who I thought was a wonderful woman a little over two years ago and she came with two children. We had one together. All girls.

I met her during a month long trip to the Greek Islands and one thing led to another...brought them to the US on a Fiancée visa, got married, etc. i made good money until she came into my life. i was always expected to clean and cook when i get back home from a demanding job. We argued about this and she is lazy...she is educated (has an MBA) and speaks English with a British accent but refuses to get a job. We argued and argued.

On November 6th 2012, I left work early to find out why my wife wasn't answering the phone. I arrive home to see that no one is here, her clothes and suitcases gone and a simple post it note on the bathroom door saying she left back home and I can "keep" the children I always complain about (more on this later). She left the kids with our upstairs neighbor. She also cleaned out our checking account...

Her kids are rotten..they destroy everything they touch, steal food, toys, whatever they can get their hands on so, yes, I complained and hated having my closest friends say that these little brats are not welcomed in their home. And my wife and I have argued constantly about this. My 3 year old is fine but I can't take care of the kids...

The Safe Haven Laws state that only infants can be given to emergency personnel. And CPS is delaying in getting back to me (it's been a month already!!!). My family will not take these kids and I have never been in contact with hers. I've been bumming off these kids with the neighbors but I have since used up all I can. It is causing strive with me at work because I am never in on time and I can't concentrate knowing that I will have to head home eventually and take care of these three.

With the wife gone, I see no reason to hang on to the old life.

My questions: how do I put these kids up for adoption? First two kids are still on green cards but with the wife abandoning them, I am not sure what to do.

I signed the I-864 form for financial responsibility for the children and the wife up until they are US citizens. How does this affect me when I give them up for adoption?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't give them up for adoption, they are not your kids. However, you ARE financially responsible for them. If you allow the state to take them, you will likely be charged the cost of caring for them. However, that's probably best for the kids, since you have such a callous disregard for these children who have been abandoned by their mother.

Where IS Mom?

Where is the father? You haven't adopted the children, correct?

There's a reason I'm asking, and depending on how you answer you might really hate my next response...

Like I care what you think. So, if I were to adopt the other two and then give them up for adoption, what would the time limit be and how soon can it be done?

Like I care to respond anymore.

And yes, I had ANSWERS for you.

Go pay an attorney to tell you the same Very Bad News as I was going to tell you.

I'll throw you a bone, though. You're not getting out of your FINANCIAL obligation so easily, my friend.

Oh don't lie. I mean you're already coming across as an absolute jerk.

But trust me, pumpkin pie, this ain't as easy as you seem to want us to believe.

And yes, Geekess - the OG Effect is alive and well this Saturday!

Of course, OP can always come back and tell us who he spoke to and give us their telephone number. Because, y'know, I'll check.

Actually, because the children are GREEK citizens and no blood relation to the OP and their FAMILY is in Greece, the embassy might take them in. MIGHT. But that doesn't mean he couldn't be charged with some crime or be held financially responsible. This is NOT as easy as he seems to think it is.

There's no reason to deport them, if they actually have green-cards of their own. Sure, they could end up in the foster system. But the sponsor's obligation won't end unless they're actually deported back to Greece. Permanently.

Let's face it, he just pulled one of the biggest "OG Effect" lies we've seen in FOREVER.

I agree with you. OG effect in major use here.

Actually, LdiJ, it IS what you said. It may not be what you meant, but grammatically it is what you said.
