My Father passed on March 7th.My aclcoholic brother had power of attorney while he was alive.There is thousands of dollars that he has in his possestion now.I have the WILL and it appoints my fathers brother as excetutor
in his will.This excetutor lives out of state and renounces his possition as exexcutor and wrote me a letter saying so and also allowing me to take over his duties or appoint whom ever I want.So is this letter enouf for me to go forward?Also my Father has a few life insurance policies to be collected on.This situation is very complicated and I am Disabeld and am on a very limited income therefor can not afford ATTYS fees but with the thousands of dollars brother took out of credit union that dad had comeing in from civel service and SS.My father was in a state hospital while this money incured.Brother refuses to pay for an attorney to handel estate out of the money that he had transferrerd to him as acting power of attorney before dad passes on.He is drinking and druging away all this money.i would like to carry out my Fathers wishes as stated in his last will and testememt.Can someone PLEASE HELP ME? Real life. I am sorry about your loss but the only way to handle this is to retain a lawyer and have the lawyer handle things. If there is money in the estate that money would be used to pay the lawyer. But lawyers can not work for free, and you don't either. And while you delay, the money is being spent and won't be revoverable.
