Been having a # of problems with "people" who seem to have a problem with the way I look. I will go over some of them mainly to express that these most recent incidents should also not be considered a "passing thing" to "ignore" etc.
Going back through the past 20 years or so, my windows at my residence have been busted at least 3 times. My place broken into at least twice. My vehicles vandalized at least maybe 5 times. Threatened with a knife once. Threatened/attempts at bullying probably close to a dozen. Rented to by unethical landlords at least 3 times. One of which was above a Tourette's syndrome guy who would suddenly shout/cuss at various times of the night/early morning. Upon my moving and after leaving the apartment virtually spotless, the "kind" landlord gave me less than 10% of the deposit back claiming the apt was in need of cleaning(!)
I really could write a veritable tome here, but I believe my message has been presented that I've been a nearly constant sponge for, what seems to me, abuse from rather corrupt/judgmental "people".
My most recent "adventure" has been dealing with a landlord/manager of a YMCA building which rents rooms. He claims that what his building offers is regarded as "temporary housing" thus leaving him/the management exempt from any laws of giving a 30 day notice after eviction. He claims he can throw a person out within 24 hours. Another situation I've been having at the place has been with some, maybe, 240 lb guy who seems to like to stare at me like he has a problem. He also likes to peer into my room when the door may be ajar and/or if I might be getting ready to go out. The landlord also seems to have some problem with my, I guess, lack of "beauty", if one was to judge from his unfriendliness and complaints about my "messy room" shared with some other tenants down the hall. I have also been of the suspicion that he may be involved with covering up the possible theft of my cell phone in the tv room - which has cameras which should have the thief/"finder" of my phone caught red handed. He has claimed no one was on film taking it.
I certainly would like to find a better/safer place to live, but because so many "people" seem to have some problem with the way I look, if I do get offered anything, it has been most likely a dump which the landlord knows he couldn't really/legally offer to someone who looks like the law might respect him to put him in his place. After "my so-called "parents" shoved poison down my throat because of their supposed belief that I was riding in a pick-up truck with 2 homosexuals, I've been battling with "people" who have had some problem with my looks. I need some legal advice,... and similar to when I was a teen, I need some sanctuary!!!

When you have an "ugly" personality, you will be afforded fewer opportunities than a more pleasant person, regardless of their appearance.

During my years in Iowa, I observed more than one person who by many standards would be regarded as physically not attractive. On young man had horrible burn scarring and was missing an ear and most of his nose, for example. His instructors at the university, from what I could see, assessed him based on what he wrote for his classes. Any lack of opportunity was based on the quality of his work, not his appearance, and most spoke of him as a likable person.

My point being, looks aren't everything. Most of us are in no danger of being asked to model in our underwear for a best selling calendar. Many of us have received 100% of our security deposit back in spite not being on any 100 sexiest people alive lists.

But if more than one landlord has said you are messy... then maybe you are messy.

So, learn how to smile, make small talk, and clean up after yourself. Since you clearly have no idea how to clean, ask for advice. (As I have no idea if your issue is dust, smell or dirty dishes, for a few examples.)

There's always the option of plastic surgery if you're so sure that it's just your looks that are causing you so much grief.

Beauty, or lack of beauty, isn't the problem you percieve it to be; Just as Marty Feldman or Danny Trejo.

Your post suggests psychiatric care is what is needed more than a facelift.

True that. I was just going the shallow route since it seems to be the one this guy is stuck on.

I suspect there are some who may call you judgmental...

How might psychiatric "care" solve the problems of the vandalism, disrespect, etc.

If you treat people nicely they will treat you nicely. Psychiatric care may help you with your behavior that, apparently, is causing you issues.

Can someone perhaps point out where/how they have concluded that I have been the mean one - in any of the mentioned contexts/situations? It appears to me to be based on assumption. And, if I might try to say, in what I hope will be perceived in a more jocular/friendly way, - but,... you do know what they say about the word "assume", right?
And, moreover, if I may, what about these proposed seeming assumptions about psychiatry? To me, psychiatry and "care" seem more like an oxymoron. If one might care to read some Peter Breggin, or Thomas Szazz, one might begin to believe such a "profession" to be more congruent with savagery,... barbarianism,... hate and fear...
And it does appear, (to me) that from many of the contexts of which such an expression as "you should seek psychiatric care" is used, the expression seems to come from the angle of hate. One might wonder if such a comment should be considered as pc(?) Considering the contexts such a comment is often used in, one can/should easily determine the mindset/mentality of the one criticizing. For instance, how many of us have not heard such a phrase in the context of "go to blank, you need psychiatric care" - "you're a such and such, you need " " ", or blank you, you need... etc, etc...
Isn't using (such a (imo falsely) perceived notion of psychiatry similar to what some religious people do when using the bible (or perhaps more often/specifically Leviticus,) as a shield for their own hates and fears?
