What is the name of your state? A year and 4 months ago my friend cosigned me to get a car I had some problems in the few months of the payments but I paid them for 8 months but some are late and she got mad so she took the car and continued the car herself I havent had the car 8 months and now she called me that she said she got a mail from toyota about the car and she told me I owe $6 grand she explained to me that the car was finally sold and she said that they couldnt sell the car for the original proce because of the damage and i guess the mileage, I accidentally damaged the car theres a dent in the back but my concern is why now why not 8 months ago when I she took the car back and the car is under her name. And after she took it from me she gave it to her bf's mom to use and didnt pay the payments so it got reppossed and shes been having the car for 8 months and now she's claiming that I owe the car $6000. I know I made amistake thats why i tried to pay all the payments and tried to make it tight but she didnt let which I understand I just want to know where my place is and if it is really possible that I owe her that kind of money

Im not sure what she said aftwr she took the car, what I heard is that she's gonna give it back to the dealership and told me that the dealership had that car ever since she took it from me 8 months after she told me that the car was already sold and saying that Im responsible on paying that which I never agreed on giving the car back to the dealership, a month after she took the car she got a brand new toyota camry 2018 so I dont know if she traded the car for that also one thing I heard is that after she took it from me her boyfriend's mom has been using it and didnt pay for it. Also she said somethi g about the car being repossessed when she told me that the dealership had the car this whole time so I dont know what are the true possibility that happen. I dont know why I have to suffer now when I begged her before not to take the car and now there's a big payment she wants me to suffer for that

You breached the contract by paying late and likely screwed up her credit. She had every right to take the car and yes, you are responsible for the remainder owed after the sale. Don't buy cars you can't afford in the future.

She took the car away from you and then one way or another caused it to be repossessed...is that correct? I am unclear if she was a true cosigner (car in both of your names) or if the loan was solely in her name?

I know it was an honest mistake my payments were late but it was paid everything before I have it back to her, it did affect her credit score by 2 points when she took the car she let someone use it and didnt pay the monthly till it got reppossed
now that that happened the car was sold and wants me to pay for the amount that needs to be paid, it wasnt on my possesion when it got repossessed and it wasnt my fault why it did.

She cosigned me but since I didnt have a credit score back then the dealership put it all under her name and can only be put to my name if I have the right credit score and she didnt really made it clear on what happened to the car she said that shes going to give it back to the dealership but few months back I found out that her boyfriend's mom is using it and not paying it till it got repossessed which i dont understand because she said in the first place that she's going to give it back a month after she took the car I saw she got a brand bew 2018 toyota camry and i accidentaly opened the app before to make a payment for my new car and I saw that the car she took away from me owes $1245 for her monthly and now all off a sudden she's telling me that I need to pay for it because the dealeship sold the car already and wantes me to sign something and is going to court

Its all under her name Im just on the driver's list which she already demolished 8 months ago

Then tell her to pound sand. She took HER car away from you and then let it get repossessed. That is HER problem.

And there was a dent in the back which i said im willing to get it fixed but decided to rush everything and took the car...shes worried about getting her credit score going down more but isnt its going to drop more if she repossessed the car or give the car back ?

And she said she's going to sue for me it, which in the first place I begged her not to take it and she still decides to take the car and pay for it

She might be able to successfully sue you for the cost of getting the dent fixed. However, my guess is that she never got any estimates for the dent. However, if the car loan company itemized the repo costs the dent might have been itemized out. However again, if she had her car properly insured she should have made a claim to the insurance company to get the dent repaired.

But is there going to be a difference if I told them that I wanted to get it fixed but she rushed to take the car
