    Easements, trees, and another thing

No, and I'm sure they're not worth much. The trees around the house were spruce, and yard trees at that. They're probably worth nothing at it. It's a sentimental thing. The walnut tree might've been worth a few hundred dollars.

Yep, it does. It says that too. Maybe they'll stand the trees back up.

    Easements, trees, and another thing

I'm a slow typer so blah'ed it. It says... Occupant will make improvements to property in conjunction with its operations, including grading, compacting, and stoning accessways as well as widening the exisitng stream crossing. They're widening the driveway a little bit.

    Easements, trees, and another thing

Yes. PennDOT didn't pay for using the driveway. I was told demolition would happen from the highway, so they wouldn't need to use the driveway. The company doing everything said they couldn't do it from the highway so they're doing all of this now. I have a short agreement with them. It...

    Easements, trees, and another thing

Nothing prevents me from having a lawyer other than the cost/benefit of doing so. PennDOT outsources just about everything. I think I'm just done dealing with them at this point. This is a private company that paid to use the driveway. They are the ones rebuilding the culvert and cutting...

    Easements, trees, and another thing

At the time I posted stuff here I wasn't too happy with my lawyer, but didn't yet understand that he was a moron that would screw up the whole thing. I also didn't have money to switch to a different lawyer at that point. I would've done it if I could. I signed the deal last May. I didn't...

    Easements, trees, and another thing

What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania I've had a property partially taken by the state for a highway project. I've posted a few things about this in the past. It was a complete clown show that I might never get over. I have new questions/problems now. In addition to...

    What is a bedroom?

My dad's cousin was looking at old house that claimed to have 2.5 baths. In the dank old cellar there was a toilet near the wall, no sink, no walls around it, and the toilet didn't even work! That was the half bath.

    What is a bedroom?

    Don't rain on my parade!

    What is a bedroom?

This house was built in the 1830's, and has closets in every bedroom. Who knows if they were there originally though. On another note, I just realized I could look up tax info on the house. It's called a one story house with three bedrooms. The second floor seems like an attic to the taxman.

    What is a bedroom?

Which could make most rooms in a house a bedroom. Like the Mitch Hedberg joke... I bought a house, it's a 2-bedroom house. But I think it's up to me how many bedrooms there are, don't you? This bedroom has an oven in it! This bedroom has a lot of people sitting around watching TV. This...

    What is a bedroom?

I have a stack of papers, the relocation consultant, PennDOT, and a lawyer. I've been going through this for 11 months. I'm a quasi-expert by now. I also have an appraised value. It's pretty irrelevant as it's lower than the list price of the comparable.
  13. M

    What is a bedroom?

The "comparable" that's in my first post has/or is supposed to have similar features to my house. Age and condition aren't factors. It's just supposed to be "equal or beter". They aren't saying my house is worth $275k. It just means I can spend $275k on a house. If it was a REAL four...
  14. M

    What is a bedroom?

They don't use the comparable to determine values. It simply determines how much could be spend on a replacement home. So using a fake 4 bedroom house is screwing me.

    What is a bedroom?

I guess they pick three at first, but I get no information on them. We know the first house picked was "substantially more expensive" and was rejected in Harrisburg. This is the second one. I'm just asking for a REAL 4 bedroom house to be used.
