The bank made errors on my home loan modification that cost me over $100. Are they required to reimburse me?

I would send a qualified written request, request for information, notice of error under RESPA. Most servicers have a designated address for this. If they fail to respond within the timeline, you may be able to sue for damages. While you're writing, you want to also ask for an amortization...

Lien not removed when judgement was in our favor

I would take a copy of the judgement to the clerk of court and ask them what the process is to remove the lien. Since you won the judgement, it might be a fairly simple DIY process.

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

Posner has an sample of what the website is going to be like. Not sure if you've peeked but it looks like a "one stop shop" kind of thing. My only fear for the idea is that it will attract more lawyers looking to find clients rather than lawyers that are legtimately wanting to help pro se folks...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

@Taxing Matters There is a consequence to me because after all, I was going to file a motion for sanctions for false and frivolous pleadings and for delay, oppression, and harassment against opposing counsel, who is gone. That kind of confounds me. I'm going to file the motion anyway just to...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

What I'm gathering here is that you are really bothered by my desire to extrapolate.

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

So they confused the evidence by bascially saying they misinterpreted its meaning years later so so they made themselves look like idiots. But that is not a reason to withdraw, or atleast I wouldn't think so. But I did tell them about the existence of evidence and accused them of hiding it and...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

What they did was change the meaning of the evidence. For instance, in the MTD, the evidence had a meaning that they used in their argument, but then later, they said the evidence didn't have the same meaning. So this is allowed? That seems careless and I'm quite surprised. They didn't win on...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

I did. Thank you and I almost forgot to tell you that I exchanged some emails with Richard "Dick" Posner. He told me that he could help me find an attorney or help me win pro se lol. Thought you might find that interesting. He might end up regretting making his email so publically available...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

Please link me to where I said that because I've never won a lawsuit. Also I don't have a sour outlook on all lawyers just like you likely don't have a sour outlook on all pro ses or do you? I tell you that I like attorneys so much that I'm shopping for one. The case has become too complex and...

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

Yes it is complicated. I'm not sure how two lawyers can get sanctioned if they have withdrawn. Do lawyers withdraw just to avoid being sanctioned?

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

Do you mind explaining how sanctions work to the dummies like me? Especially how it works when counsel has withdrawn?

Who pays for sanctions or contempt motion?

Happy holidays everyone. I'm a Plaintiff in a lawsuit against a big corporation in a David v. Goliath type of case represented by biglaw. Parties were ordered to mediation on December 5th and then that became a holiday so it was rescheduled for Jan. 23rd. Court ordered the parties to attempt...

    Opposing counsel is lying

What would you all consider the standard time frame for acknowledging an email from opposing counsel without responding in full? Twenty three hours or less is standard in business, not sure how that applies to the legal business. Thanks!
