O.P.T expiring , applying for H1b
I am in a similar situation. From what I learned: 1) The H1B cap for FY 2005 was reached a long time ago, 2) however 20k additional positions were released recently for people who graduated with a Master's degree or higher from a US institution. I am currently a Sri Lankan citizen on Optional Practical Training (OPT). My OPT expires on April 15th. I have found a job here in the US and they are willing to sponsor my H1-B.
