Legal to create accounts for another person?

@quincy Wow, thank you for that! Looks like pretty much everything we'd need if things got even more serious, like if I had to have POA on bank accounts to pay bills and such. We're thinking of selling our houses and getting a house together, which means I may very well end up having to...

Legal to create accounts for another person?

Yes, my brother lives in IL, and my father and I live in Wisconsin, but not together in the same house. That might change this coming year though.

Legal to create accounts for another person?

What you pointed out is what had me worried. However, the only things I've done so far is monitor for appointment changes, let my Dad know his test results, and ask questions of the doctor my Dad has. Also use my credit card to make payments since these places seem to lose the checks my Dad...

Legal to create accounts for another person?

What is the name of your state? WI What I'm asking about here is the legality of creating Internet accounts for another person even though it requires confidential information from the other person and also provides access of confidential information about the other person. I'm referring to...

Did a big-name insurer just scam me?

I'm not an expert on insurance policies, but I have bought them in the past. I always thought that a written contract along with signatures was required before payment was gotten. With not even so much as a print out being shown, it seems a bit suspicious to me.

Did a big-name insurer just scam me?

Wouldn't I be derailing the original thread (about getting a new roof) by asking a question about whether or not I was scammed by an insurance agent? I'm trying to keep different topics in separate threads.

Did a big-name insurer just scam me?

What is the name of your state? WI After being cancelled by my insurance company due to my roof being too old, I had been seeking out new insurance from other providers without any success. So I turned to a state insurance program that is meant for people who can't get insurance through a...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

I don't have 3 layers of shingles. That's what I had when the job was done 21 years ago. There's only 1 now. Since I never got the quote on the roofing cost, I don't know what it will be, or if the contractor would even do it. I'm just going by what she showed me on her tablet computer but...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

Still no results. Of the 2 appointments on Friday, the first cancelled and didn't reschedule, and the second one came and talked to me for about a half hour and said they'd send me the quote by email. It's Sunday now and I never got it. But they told me verbally that it would be about...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

Update: He showed up and we talked for about an hour. He said he'd send me a quote, but never did. Two more appointments for tomorrow. Oh, and in a few minutes, I'll be going to an insurance agent to sign up for the Wisconsin Insurance Plan. They changed the quote on me now for the 3rd time...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

I actually mentioned the idea of gutters to the roofer who did the job 21 years ago, and he said "I don't believe in gutters". The only thing he did was install a rain diverter over the front porch. But I've always had a gutter on the south side of the garage. That's the only one I have. The...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

It was a home inspector. I figured they'd have a good knowledge of all parts of the home. I'm not sure what type of inspector the insurance underwriter sent to my home, but they seemed to know roofs even from a distance. The home inspector I hired actually went up onto the roof.

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

No. I didn't know that was something that could be done. But I did have an inspector look at it before I bought the house and it turned out he didn't know what he was talking about when he said it looked as if it had another 15 or so years of life left on it. It started leaking after 2 years...

Is a Renters Insurance policy legal for a Homeowner to have?

Well, these pics are older so they don't show the roof condition as it is now. I just posted these because they show the house and what the roof is like as far as angles and such.
