I am in Ohio.
I own my home and property free and clear. I no longer have horses so the barn and pastures are mostly unused. If I start leasing out the barn and pastures to a horse trainer will that change my home into an income property? Also would it change my current property tax status as...
I thought it was interesting as well considering the web site stated my check would be mailed the 24th., not arriving the 24th. Considering all the conflicting info about when paper checks were to start I wanted to post so the OP knows the paper checks are being sent. Of coarse that doesn't...
Quincy I again checked the "track my money" site this past Monday and it stated my paper check will be sent out on April 24th. That conflicts with your comment that paper checks won't be printed till May 1st. Of coarse that may or may not happen, we will see. That site also said I will be...
I would advise the OP to at least check the link the govt. has set up to to check your eligability and the status of your stimulas payment. Even though I receive a monthly SSDI check and file a tax return every year the govt. site claimed to not know my banking info for direct deposit.
I am waiting for a check! lol. That's the way the 401(k) rollover into an IRA ended up, but it will be a FBO check.
Turns out I'm not eligible for an IRA to HSA rollover anyway. The HSA/high deductible plan needs to be in effect for a 12 month period for me to reap a tax free contribution...
Thanks for the replies. I am in the process of rolling over my 401(k) into an IRA, just waiting for the check to arrive, so I mis spoke(or typed) mentioning the 401(k), the money would actually come out of the IRA.

I am receiving full disability but am in that two year window where I am not eligible for Medicare so am paying out of pocket for my health care plan. For 2020 I will have no earned income, I am 59 years old.
If I get a HSA type health plan for 2020 can I...
Because I have always tried to be a constant, stable and supportive role model in her life, a position her parents struggled with. For the most part I am staying out of it, my niece is a grown woman, but my sister kept asking me to meet the attorney and and offer my opinion because she and...
Yes she does. I have been involved a bit with the process and have sat down with her attorney a couple of times. He seems to stay on top of things but seems reactive as opposed to proactive, but in his defense I know my niece has tried to minimize his fees.
Thanks for the responses.
I know this isn't Dear Abbey but just so you have some background info.....
The case is an ugly divorce case involving my niece, her ex is the one with free legal representation, a long time family friend. My niece was married into the family for eleven years so knows...

Can an attorney represent a family member or friend for free and continually keep another party buried in letigation causing financial hardship or ruin? Or is there legal or ethical rules forbidding that practice?

I retired in June 1st, 2018, I have a lot of tools I will never use again and offered to sell them to my former employeer. They agreed to purchase everything but told me since I was a past employee and have a payroll ID number they would have to issue me a...
I got a different thought about the original post. I thought "displayed for safety" might be referring to the red/orange band on the end of toy guns indenifing them as toys. Yes the title said "pellet gun" but I wondered if the OP was thinking of a pellet gun as a toy (which it's not) or...
My bet is the breeder is afraid her reputation will be harmed if word gets out part of her breeding line is not genetically perfect. I'm not saying the dogs cancer is genetic but it still will reflect badly on that line. Getting the dog back allows the breeder to deal with the situation in her...
Maybe I misunderstood what I have read then. I don't know how to post a link but here's a cut and paste I pulled from a Google search.
""If you are single and you make more than $34,000 (or married and make more than $44,000), 85% of your benefits could be taxed.
If your disability benefits...
