Grown up at 16.
Missouri
This no longer seems like a law forum with the current advice but it is good advice. I got pregnant at 15 by a 21 year old man. I had the baby and kept him. The dad went on to get 2 more juveniles pregnant. He is currently on the sex offender list because someone...
dumpster diving & trash cans
Ok, you have to ask for the item if it's in the dumpster but what if it's in a trash can? You know, just your neighbor's trash or something. Do you have to ask or can you just take it?
What if it's sitting on the road BY the trash can. Can you take it...
Dumpster Diving
Can a person be sued for dumpster diving? It is so tempting when you see an old coffee pot or something in the dumpster. Is that legal just to go get it and take it home?
teen title & insurance
"At age 15 1/2, you are treated as an adult under Missouri's traffic laws." This came from the Missouri bar website. Wonder if it means HE would be responsible entirely (financial too) if in an accident with another vehicle.
Our insurance agent said they couldn't...
Marriage & emancipation
I may be wrong but I believe that in Missouri the girl could be free of her mother if she got married. Of course, at her age, she would probably have to have a parent sign something saying it was ok for her to marry.
I am always liable - Why not?
I AM ALWAYS LIABLE -
I really don't know the answer to this question. A possible "why not" is that if this person was in a crash with another vehicle, would the other person be able to sue the minor for whatever damage done?

Our son has a car in his name only. Can we be held responsible if he does not keep insurance on it and is in an accident?
Warning to parents! A car turns your teen boy into a prideful monster who thinks he owns the world. Don't let him have one, if...
The saga ends (part II coming soon)
he's home. turns out my own mother was one of the people keeping him!!! She would not admit it, so I finally called her & said I'd be filling out those papers at the police station & they would be finding him unless he showed up in half an hour...
still waiting
It's very frustrating because I just want to talk to him & get this over with! I'm the kind of person who must get something done right away (once it's on my mind) or I go nuts!
Anyway, the police said if I sign papers about him being a runaway, then juvenile will definitely get...
I love your replies!!!
They are at least making me smile! :o
I am thinking of his dad. He hasn't seen him since he was probably 2 or 3 but he might take him in.
My son has really been a pretty good kid all these years. Of course, when the puberty kicked in he got a little crazy but has...
Thanx
Missouri
Thanx for the reply! Contract of independece - great idea!!!
This forum has made me feel a little better. Seeing all these crazy kids who want to move out on their own. Poor clueless creatures. Don't parents often long for the day when the know it all kid moves out!!!! :)

How old must a child be in Missouri to be free from parental control? My 16 year old has written me a note stating his requirements of me and telling me the things he "won't do". He says that he can legally move out at age 17. Does anyone know if this...
