      I disagree. I would put a stop payment on the checks and, just to be safe, switch banks. They've been known to root around to find out if you've switched acct numbers. This agency is full of it - even if they DID try and sue you, you can answer their summons with the affirmative defense...

      Oh yeah...you never mentioned the name of the lawfirm that holds your account. If it's Love, Beal & Nixon, they do and WILL sue. With that said, they also violate as many, if not more, FDCPA statutes as any CA does. You just have to catch them on it. ;)
