Hey Zigner and HRZ do you know if alaska state civil courts can issue an order for the cancellation of a child's Medicaid if it requires a separate application from SSI? But it is a stand alone SSI and Medicaid for a child with a disability. It is not tied to either parent's household.- kakooi

We live in the same state of Alaska. However, he is in a different town, and I cannot afford travel to him to be a part of the IEP meetings. All of his services are provided to him locally in Anchorage.- kakooi

Insurance Issues
They are both low income, but one wants private insurance and the other does not. They both cannot afford the high premiums and out of pocket. The one who does not want private insurance is disabled. I was just wondering if a judge could order Medicaid to be dropped- kakooi

I am in Alaska. Can a state judge order one parent to discontinue Medicaid for a child receiving SSI so that the other parent can pay for private insurance for the child? He was in a residential treatment facility in Utah for one year. He received medication and good treatment. He learn many coping skills. He was not placed in the facility due to an IEP, he was placed in the facility with an IEP. The IEP really only governs activities at his high school and does not seem to be related to his foster care placement in any way.- kakooi

He does have an IEP. I have not met with anyone from the high school yet. I am so inundated with issues in the home I haven't yet addressed my son's schooling.
