What is the name of your state (NJ)?
My father and mother have been divorced for sometime now about three years, and my father has fallen out since. He only makes 34,000 a year and is trying to pay 100 a week for child support. I live in a 4 person home its myself my little brother and my little sister. 100 per week does not even cover groceries that my mom buys for the house. Is there any way i can get this changed go to court? anything my moms really hurting and i can not take it any more

Thanks,

Jordan W

WTH???

No. CHILDREN do NOT get involved in their parents' nasty legal battles and problems.

You can't do a thing, legally, about the child support. Your MOM could be a grownup and take care of it -- she can request a review of the child support order. She could get a better job. You could contribute, yourself.

But there is nothing you can do as far as court goes. You are a child, not a party to the action.

I'm sorry, but this is really not your fight. It is up to your mother to deal with this in the court room. However, based on what you've posted, I doubt there is any more money to "get". Furthermore, the child support is not designed to maintain the entire household...your mother also needs to contribute (I'm not saying that she's not)

Huh. I live in NJ, make nowhere near six figures, but manage to run a house and support two growing children.

Im only 18

Then you're an adult. Your mother has no business feeding you, clothing you or putting food in your stomach if she cannot afford it or if she is struggling trying to do it. Time for you to get a job and move out, then she has 1 less person to feed and support and the bills get cheaper.

If you eat at home, run the lights, use the gas, utilitze the laundry, eat the food, etc. etc. etc. then she IS supporting you and it's time for YOU to move out, since you are capable of supporting yourself.
