texas, my mother passed away and left 13 yr twin boys how do i get guardianship ? the father has not seen or wanted to see them in almost 10 years. he cannot be served and the attorney charged us 1400 dollars for nothing and we can't afford to pay anymore. is there another form we can file without an attorney and without the father being served . we have his home address but it is a small town in georgia of which he has many friends.so more than likely he will never be served. please help. big sister

You need to sue your former attorney for the money.

As for the twins, you DO need to hire an attorney and DO need to inform the real dad before anything can happen.

So...try your state bar association or http://www.attorneypages.com and look for a family law attorney.
