I am a 14 y/o in MD, and i'm dating a 19 y/o, who will be 20 in Feb. Neither of us have ANY intensions of having sex with each other. I don't get the chance to see him all that often, and when we do see each other it takes a lot of effort just to get me out of the house. We both want to tell my parents somehow, but we aren't sure whether or not they'll approve of it. I wanted to know if this relationship could get us in trouble, if my parents don't approve, and if so how? also, if they do approve, could we get into trouble? Thanks for the help!

Dear Abnormal,
You don't need to ask us then do you?
You are sneaking around and not telling your parents for two reasons, it's illegal and you both get a rush from the risk. And when the thrill is gone you move to the next level, you get pregnant and he dumps you leaving you with a baby and several years of high school to finish, but you will be too tired to think.
Have fun while it lasts, because it won't so wake up and grow up.

In that, you are wrong. I'm doing this because I fell into a deep depression 3 years ago, and because being around him is the one thing that makes me happy. I hate the risk. It is because i hate the risk that i want my parents to know, because i want them to approve so i can be happy without risk.

While it is true that a relationship will release "feel good" hormones, neither that nor the antidepressant properties of semen are as good as an appropriately perscribed antidepressant.

I suggest you tell your parents about the relaitonship so you are not sneaking around, and get help for your depression.

Three years ago, something one of my friends did to me (an impressionable 6th grader at the time) made me depressed and suicidal. My parents don't know this, in fact, they have worsened the situation. I told this boy, Matt, who i knew from church, about my secret back in May, and we became really good friends. I realized a while ago that whenever i talk to him, it makes me happy, and it is possibly the only thing that has that effect on me. He asked me out because he honestly cares about me. If you need to know anything else, please let me know.
