What is the name of your state? Ohio

Is it legal for a 17 year old female and an 18 year old male to have sex? I'm the one who is 17 and my parents don't know that I'm having sex with my boyfriend yet, but if they find out can they press charges against my boyfriend even if I was the one whose idea it was to have sex in the first place?

If I get pregnant can they keep me from seeing him until I am 18?

Thank you for your help.

Until your 18 your parents get to tell you what to do. Meaning if they want to they can keep you away from the boyfriend.

A little advice kid, stop having sex, wait until your out of high school and fully prepared to for anything that may result out of having sex. I don't think you want to be a mom yet.
As far as telling your parents, that's up to you. Honesty is the best policy. Becasue would you rather have them here it from you or some how end up finding out from someone else.

As far as pressing chargings, they might be able to if they so choose.

You say "if you get pregnant" like it's a common cold.

Listen, you are already humping away, and heck, that's what hormones do to people your age. But, don't be stupid and ruin your life by getting pregnant. Use condoms, the pill, or both. And use them correctly. If you have a kid, you will close many doors that you will never even be aware of until later in life, and you will regret it for sure.
Be safe. There is no "Happily Ever After" with 18 year olds, at least 99% of the time, anyway...

Now that we've heard from the moral majority let's try the LEGAL answer.

Yes, your parents can have an order of protection issued against your boyfriend. Yes, he can be put in jail if he violates that order. And yes, they can send you away if YOU violate the order.

Until you turn 18 you are a minor.

As for can your boyfriend get in legal trouble for having sex with you, the LEGAL answer is no.

I'll leave the moralizing to others.

I am already freaking out over my Tax dollars at work.

Why do kids need to breed? Are our schools lacking in the sex class?

And what happened to the condom, poster?

Their probaby lacking in the sex classes. At my highschool we had no Sex Classes. When I was in 12th grade all I had to do was walk around with a thing of flour.

Now since I have graduated in 2002 they have just started where the 8th grade (my sisters class) for three days has to carry's around those robot babies (the ones that cry), and then when their in the 10th grade they'll do it again. But that's about it as far as Sex Classes go.

Most of these kids that are having sex are probably thinking to themselves, 'Hey it will never happen to me'. The sad part is it can happen to anyone I know of at least 7 cases where teens have gotten pregnant.
