What is the name of your state? Tennessee
Driving home from work, vehicle pulled from a cross-road (he was marked as failure to yield on police report, but unsure if he was actually cited) and I t-boned him. Broken hand, jammed other hand, whiplash that extends from one side of neck down into both shoulder blades, wrenched back (causes left lug numbness intermittently) and also had an irregular hearbeat (was kept over night at medical center, but never reoccurred). Missed approximately 10 days from work + wife missed 2 days caring for me. My vehicle was totalled and still has lien (my agent's quote was @ $600 under payoff, unfortunately). Medical bills include ambulance, ER, ortho + rehab; guessing bill total to be in the neighborhood of @ $8000 - $12000. Head and torso MRI's were negative as were chest xrays.
Guy that pulled out in front of me simply called his agent and told him that 'someone hit his vehicle' (his vehicle was totalled as well).
First wreck I have ever been in (30+ years old) and honestly, have no idea what to expect. I am letting my insurance company handle the vehicle claim and subrogation. I am driving again, but nearly have panic attacks when people pull from side streets to the shoulder, etc. I would prefer to let the insurance company handle the whole situation; however, I just do not have that 'warm and fuzzy' feeling that will go well. Advice?
