I was pulled over by the local police and given a sitation for a DUI. They say I blew a .21 which I know is high.
1. Do I need an attorney to represent me. Money is tight and I know I will have to pay a fine. Would the fine go down with a lawyer enough to warrent using one.
2. I am married to an American and waiting for my perminant resident visa. Can this affect that.
3. I am planning to move to a different state at the end of this month. Will this hold it up.
Any advice would be helpful. I thank god that no one was hurt and have learned a valuable lesson.
Thanks, Goran

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Oh boy, at least you learned your lesson.

You may not only have to pay a fine but may have to do jail time, too.

Money may be tight, but you can get a lawyer. Try legal aid foundation in your county or attorneypages.com to find a criminal defense attorney with experience with DUIs.
