2 felons together

My mother lives in Virginia, my daughter (22) lives with her. Daughter is a convicted felon having been convicted of possession of heroin. She has recently met some guy who is now the love of her life (this week) He was just released from jail/rehab 2 or 3 weeks ago having served time for distribution. His conviction was also a felony conviction. She is on probation with 4 yrs suspended time. Is it legal for the 2 of them to move in to mom's house? I have never had dealings with the law so I do not know how any of this works but I was always under the impression that felons on probation were not allowed to associate with other felons. Like I said, she is on probation but I do not know his status.

I do have a second question but no idea where to post it. My mother works for a federal credit union. When she was hired she had to have a major background check and obtain security clearance. Can 2 felons living with her affect her clearance?

they are given the rules of their probation upon sentencing. If one of the rules is they do not associate with other known criminals or felons specifically, then moving in together would be a violation of their probation. That could result in being incarcerated for a probation violation.

as to your mother's situation: that is up to her employer.

I think you need to have a sit down with mom about your concerns and then leave it alone.
