What is the name of your state? South Dakota

When you give an employer 2 weeks notice and they tell you to just leave that same day, are they required to pay you for those two weeks still? And are they required to pay you for any earned vacation time? Thank you in advance.

No they are not. Depending on your state guidelines, however, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits for that period.

Does that go for any earned vacation time, too?

South Dakota doesn't have any requirements for paying out earned/unused vaction. If the employer doesn't have a policy in place and doesn't have a precendent for paying out vacation, you are most likely out of luck. Contact the South Dakota Department of Labor at (605) 773-3681 get the answer from them to be sure.
