I was sexually abused by my dad from the ages 4-13 at 13 the sexual abuse just stopped.I go visit my parents every-other month and I have a daughter she is 11 and when we go visit she begs no I think that he is sexually abusing her.How can I tell if she is getting abused?Should I talk to her?Should I visit my parents any more?Should I still charge him for my abuse? What do I do?

Well the SOL for you to file your own abuse charges is only 4 years after you are no longer a minor, so that would be 22.

Common sense should tell you that most abusers DO NOT QUIT abusing. Sometimes there is a certain age range of preference and they will quit bothering someone who gets older than that but they do not quit.

You need to read some books by John Douglas, he says telling a pedophile that their actions are wrong, would be equivelent to telling a straight man that it is illegal for him to want women anymore, it still doesn't change the nature just because it is wrong.

Don't take your daughter there and if you suspect abuse, get her into a doc now and find out. The mental damage she is already suffering will only get worrse the longer you wait.

I am not taking my daughter there anymore I am not going there anymore. The reason I think and am almost positive the abuse stopped was because my mother found out.The night he stopped him and my mom had a big fight.I just can't think.I am going to take her to the doctor(thanlyou for the advice).

take your daughter to her doctor for a medical exam. get her into counseling. PLUS, go to the police and file a sexual abuse complaint against your dad.

if you daughter realizes you are active in protecting her, it will go a long way in helping her to recover.

I really think now that my daughter is getting sexually abused she has nightmares.Sleeps in her closet

one of My old friends once did this and was caused by being sexually abused by one of her neighbors.

Take her to get checked at the doctors/hospital and file a report with local PD.
