What is the name of your state? california

my friend whos almost 18, was caught for a 3rd time at school in possesion of weed. this is the 2nd time he has been caught at this school within a 3 month time.

he has so far avoided probation or juvi, but my question is, what should he expect now since its his third offense. i dont think 3 strikes law applies to misdiminors, or dos it.

any help would be a blessing,

In CA I believe you can drop out of school at 16. Why does'nt your friend stop taking up space reserved for kids who want to make something out of themselves? Who in the world would want to smoke weed at school? How boring! You are not compelled to be there at almost 18, and, you clearly don't want to be there so get out be fore you go directly to jail. Which you eventually will since you are puffing away your future. By the way most of society does not see drug dealing as a ligitimate business which is pretty much all you are going to be able to do as a drop out dope head. Most neighbors and landlords will view you as a nuisance if you ever become independent of your parents which you probobly wont since you will be a drop out dope head with no future if being gainfully employed. How did I become such a know it all? Seen it, avoided it, and laugh at those who didn't.

We have compulsory education from age 6 until 18, or until graduation.

While I do not disagree with the sentiment, I just wanted to point out the law in this regard.

That depends on what he has been convicted of in the past and what he is specifically charged with now.

In any event the school can boot his sorry tail out of school regardless of what the courts might do to him.
