A friend (male) was gang raped yesterday night

This is a set of people from various states in India who came to work at a
resort in AZ and quickly banded together. However for some reason, in a
pre-meditated way the group beat up one of their own brutally, and gang raped him
in between bouts of drinking and dragged him to his room.
Another problem is that he is slated to return to India tomorrow for good. Should he sue
his former colleges, what options does he have?

As far as I know, Police weren't called.

If the police were not called, and the victim is leaving for India tomorrow, what do you expect to be done? It sounds like he will lose any opportunity to see justice done.

Suing some colleges is pointless ... he won't be here, and there will be little more than his word to allege that any of this happened. Plus, he'd have to show that the colleges were somehow responsible - and THAT would be a stretch.

Similar cases that have involved exchange students HAVE involved suits against sponsoring or hosting colleges ... so, if he meant colleagues and did not know how to spell it, perhaps he should have mentioned "friends" or "associates". Unfortunately, his scenario is entirely plausible and has happened numerous times before.
