What is the name of your state? I'm in Texas but she lives in Oklahoma for now.

My friend Amanda has a now 6 year old son and is wanting to just now seek child support from his father. Now here is the problem that neither one of us seem to agree on.
She got pregnate while living in Georgia, the bio father started to become both physically and verbally abusive so she left and filed a protective order against him. She moved to Montana with her relatives, had the baby there and was on state aid. She met a man when the child was 2 years old and moved in with him. She was still receiving aid for her and her son during this time. Years later they moved to Oklahoma cause of his work transfer. Now they are talking Marriage but he said he wont marry her till she gets child support from the bio dad cause he doesnt want the responsibility of paying back the state aid she was on. She's afraid to do so cause she doesnt want him to know where they are and I told her that I dont think they can disclose that information to him due to the Protective Order. But Now she wants to know To which state would apply in WHO would get the back support. Georgia where the child was conceived, Montana where he was born, or Oklahoma where they now reside? Also which state would determine the amount that she would receive once the back payments are made?

I told her I would email a copy of any and all advice and suggestions made.

She files for child support where she now resides.

(her fiancé/soon to be husband wouldn't be responsible for paying back her state aid because he's not the childs bio father)
