a friend is 62 next year he has put is 40 quarters in but that was when he worked last. 1977 he has not worked since then he kind of has a very rich girlfriend who took care of him last 25 years dont get me wrong he did kind of cheuffeur her around and stuff but did not have to do anything. now they are not together but he is 62 next year and like i said he did work years ago and he did send for his read out statement 3 years ago, it read out each year he worked and it told him how much he would get when he reached 62 now 62 has almost arrived question is does it matter if he has not worked in years
i read in one of the posts 40 quaters but 20 of them quarters have to be worked in the last 10 years any one know that for a fact responses would be good thanks guys

I second the previous post. Your friend has nothing to worry about. He is entitled to his SS retirement.
