What is the name of your state? CA

I have court ordered custody paperwork being transfered from TX to CA. The original order in TX appointed me "Sole Managing Conservator" and father "Possessory Conservator".

My question is: What does that equate to in CA custody terminology? In CA orders are usually worded "Sole legal or Sole physical custody" and/or "Joint legal or Joint physical custody". My understanding is that the CA order would translate to me having "Sole legal and physical custody" with the father having visitation rights. Is this correct?

There is no dispute here between the father and I. It's just that since the child lives in CA and father no longer lives in TX, we want the paperwork to reflect the appropriate state and to transfer the terminology as much the same as previous order as possible.

Any information is appreciated.

Contact the family law facilitators office associated with your county's superior court, many have sites and self hep materials available online, they can answer your questions.

The law facilitator's office webpage doesn't have these things listed. It is quite a far drive to go there, and I was just hoping to find something out instead of waiting until I can make it down there. I'll do that though. I appreciate your time :)

Then call them on the telephone, they will tell you which forms are required, it may vary from county to county and depending on your situation, also large counties often have more than one FLF office or forms available in branch courts.
