What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Ga

I recently went in for a manipulation of my shoulder. In the recovery room a physical therapist came in and began to move my wrist and arm around. I tried to take the pain but soon it was excruciating. I asked the physical therapist to stop or at least wait and let me catch my breath. He didn't. I passed out.

When I woke up in my room, I remembered the experience. The same man came in 4 hours later to do manipulation, again. I begged him to stop when I couldn't take the pain. He kept going stating it was the only way for my shoulder to get better. I screamed and cried until he was finished.

He, then, pinned my arm to the bed with safety pins and a sleeve. I cried and screamed out for him to stop. When he left, I made my husband unpin me.

I informed the nurses, doctors, and aide of how I was treated. They all said he shouldn't have continued once I was screaming in pain. Yet, no one offered me a grievance or complaint form to fill out.

My wrist is swollen, now, and tender to touch. I know it's from this physical therapist's abuse. I go to see my doctor today about it.

I need to know what should be my next step? Do I file a grievance, call my lawyer, call the hospital, or what? Please help.

Thanks for any information.

Your husband just stood by while all this was going on and did nothing?

Yes, the guy told my husband that it was for my own good.

My husband has since apologized emphatically because he knows nothing about the medical field and thought the therapist was supposed to do this.

Maybe it's a male thing. NO pain, no gain. I don't know. I've forgiven him. He has no medical background. But the therapist is different.

Please help with information on what do I do next.

Thank you

Certainly you should file a complaint; just remember that as far as witnesses go, your husband won't be any help to you but his silence will be a help to the hospital.

Thank you.
You are welcome.

I am a nonviolent person.

If I were a violent person, I'd tell you to smack your hubby upside the head and ask him if that was for his own good.

But I cannot tell you to do that.
