What is the name of your state? Pa
my mother in law lives with my wife and me.for the last 7 years . my one brother in law took my mother-in law to a lawyer and had his 2 other brothers and him self and my wife named poa's either can go do anything with out the other
my question is the one brother in law has my mother in law checking acct. in his and her name there have been a lot of checks never deposit to her acct, and they 2 brother in laws seem to be using money from the checking acct. to pay bills of their own plus some of her pension checks are never deposied
i have expressed concerns about this to them and my wife and they say nothing wrong is going on , my wifes trusts them and takes their word . do i or can i take any action
they informed my wife today that they are going to change the checking acct. and put it in just their name and change the social secuirty check and have it put into their acct. i really feel they are ripping my mother in law off so what can i do thanks

Your wife can take action with the POA. Your MIL can revoke the POA. Social Security does not recognize a POA. Having 4 people authorized to act independently, does not make sense.

abusing P.O.A.

thanks for your reply. the problem is my wife does not believe her brothers are cheating their mother , wife gets $900.00 per month to take care of her mother ,her brothers have control and use of the rest which amount to about $1200 per month. which the one brother use some for his own use , we take care of the mother and they have all the say and i have tried to speak to them on this and to no good . we are pretty well tried down since she is 90 and are unable to leave her alone or do we want to but i think my wifes brothers could and should help more, but all the two of them are interested in is what they can get, they are going to buy my MIL house and want to make payments interest free i told my wife i do not think they should do it that if mil would need to go to a nursing home they wouls have to give it up . so is there any thing i can do since MIL is living in our home for the last 7 years ,thanks

The biggest obstacle you have is your wife who believes that everything is fine and does nothing to exert her equal power to have a say-so about her mother. Even if you were to petition for guardianship/conservatorship over your MIL, the preferred appointment would go to an immediate family member. This does not mean that you could make inquiries about a guardianship/conservatorship with proof that MIL's money is being squandered. Speak with an Elder Law attorney that does guardianships/conservatorships. POAs are invalidated by guardianship/conservatorship.
