What is the name of your state? Colorado

A recent post stated the following & I would like to know where this information (on Colorado in particular) can be found. Many thanks, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

In correcting my self there are now eleven (11) states that allow for an accounting of child support money. They are Colorado, Deleware, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisianna, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, and Alabama. This is up from 5 states just a little more tha 2 years ago, so the trend is set.

That's good to know but in reality it really doesn't matter. It's too easy to account for CS as it can be used for anything... I could say it's being used to pay on my NEW car payment as it transports my kids....and let's not forget all the bills of the house are legally included... If someone were to take these measures unless they have ABSOLUTE proof where EVERY penny the CP is spending the point would be moot.

I once had such a complaint to the State Agency . They told me the CS money can be used as the Parent sees fit. CS is for the use of the care of the child(ren), weather it be toward rent, food, utilities, food, clothing, Etc.

Then It became a case of suspected child abuse and neglect, as I knew the Household money was being used for alcohol consumption, and the child(ren) were going without needs. Even at that , until an out side report was lodged they founded nothing on my X .

If the children's needs aren't being neglected , then you really will get nowhere .

And that's really the point isn't it? I mean accounting for CS alone is asinine unless the children are truly neglected and then it's not a CS issue.. it can AND SHOULD become a custody issue.

I agree, accounting is very easy. My ex was paying 3,975 for 2 children. When one dropped off there was a review. Ex stated she still need the full amount of support in order to live in the home. Judge said to account for the support money....and she did. Everything. Child responsible for 50% of the mortgage (do YOU see the yearly tax write-off or equity in the home that you are basically providing for with tax free money?), gas bill, electric bill, water bill, cable, car payment (bio's), car insurance (child’s), HOA dues, country club dues, homeowners insurance, food, cleaning supplies, grass cutting, gifts, clothing, linens, carpet cleaning.... It's pretty easy to come up with 8G's per month. It's funny though, the judge didn't ask her how she managed to provide her share of the financial obligation being in college f/t & not even working part time (I guess that was the live-in boyfriends to pay). So be careful what you wish for.... Changes need to be made in custody, it should be 50-50 shared with no child support changing hands except under extreme circumstances. That is what you need to fight for.
