I was recently accused of sexual harrasement by two females at work. Human Resources came to my department to speak to me in private and to make me aware of it.
The two women claimed I was starring at them and that I asked someone on the telephone what they where wearing.
The only truth to this, is I did ask someone once on the phone, what they were wearing, but as far as staring at the two women that is not true.
H.R. did not write me up, only gave me a verbal warning.
H.R. said my manager did not know about this issue.
What can I do to protect myself from these two females?
I am a professional and do not want any trouble or mean any harm to anyone.
I know these two females because they have filed many complaints against many individuals in my department about other coworkers, some legitimate and others not legitimate at all. These two females complain to managers and supervisors about everything.
My record in my department and past companies is spotless. I want to keep it that way.
H.R. rep. said peoples comments about me was "He is a good Engineer."
H.R. representative said he did not feel it was a serious issue but that he needed to make me aware of the complaint. He needed to hear both sides.
I told him I was shocked when I heard about this from him.
He said it if he felt it was serious, it would of been my last day at the company.
I have been there for 7 years.
This has never happened to me before at any company.
Should I be concerned?
What can I do to protect myself from these two females?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?
I do not want any trouble, all I want is to keep doing the terrific job I do at my job as I have been for the past 7 years.
Please help
