What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? nyc

I have a good credit score and have good limit on my credit card, my wife however does not. She doesn't owe anyone money everything has been paid off and she is current on her student loans, although she owes alot on those she pays as agreed. If I were to add her as an authorized user to my credit card account would it better her credit? Would it affect mine?

She could possibly get a bump in her credit score. Yours would not be affected ~ at the moment.

I do have to caution you though: You are taking a great risk by putting someone with less than perfect credit on your account. You might be back here some time later asking us for advice about how to reverse what you've done.

I might suggest that you get your wife a secured credit card. This will help her rebuild her credit and will keep your credit score from being at risk.
