adopt my adult stepson

how do i adopt my adult stepson? i have raised him since he was 4 years old the bio mother has never been in the picture just abandoned him. i am already his mom in every since of the word but i want him to be my legal child so that in the event of my death he would get the same rights as my bio child. i want him to have legal rights to what it rightfully his. strpchildren can not contest a will as far as i know. besides after raising him almost his whole life he derserves this. wouldnt i just be able to petition the court and him sign? is there a cheap way to do this? my parents and my husbands parents have all died and you should just see the vultures when this happens i just want to make sure it doesnt happen to my stepson we are very close. i am in ohio.

Adoption of an adult is only very rarely done, and in your case, I'm not sure why you want to do that.

What you need is a will.

You can deal w/all the inheritance issues that way w/out an adoption.

And a will is a lot cheaper than an adoption, too.
