hi my brother has a daughter out of wedlock; he needs to have medical coverage on her. his employer doesn't recognize children out of wedlock as family members. they cover adopted children. he needs to formally adopt his daughter. how does he accomplish this. please i need information.

Are you in Utah?

He can not adopt his own child to himself.

"Out of wedlock" has nothing to do with "family". Report this jerk to the State Labor Board.

Somethng is wrong with the employer's practices. If the employer provides health insurance coverage for family members, the fact that the child was born out of wedlock should not matter.
