my brother and girlfriend want husband and i to adopt unborn child due in 2 months. called lawyer in my legal care plan was told that we have to show birth and marr. cert. bank stat. car, health, life insur. and at least 2 court apperr. criminal background check, was also told by her it's a very long detailed process. is this true even though it's an uncontested relative adoption. my legal care plan said this kind of adoption was covered 100% and she said it was a lot of work and we might need to set up payment plan. California is the state. Does this sound accurate?
