In 1990 I started living with my now deceased comman law husband. At that time he had an ex-wife and two kids. After a couple years his ex-wife got remarried. Her and her new husband did everything they could to keep him from seeing his children, in 1994 or1995 he signed his rights away to his first two children, shortly after his ex-wife and her husband adopted the children everything was done legally. In 97 or98 the now adoptive father was convicted for molesting the girl he is now in prison and the biological father, my late husband is now dead. My husband and I had three kids together he died Intestate in the state of Kansas on Oct.25 1998. His ex-wife is trying to collect survivor benifits for the two children he signed his rights away to. She is claiming because he died Intestate in Kansas that his natural children are intitled to his survivors benifits because the benifits are part of his estate. She has not had the adoption reversed nor has she went to probate court she is also now remarried to yet another guy. Do you think she could recieve these benifits. I am going to the hearing through Social Security on the eighteenth any information on this subject would greatly help
