What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI
We have five grandchildren in the Philippines. Four out of the five are U S citizens. Our oldest granddaughter is not because she was born before my husband,Mike, found his daughter ,KAY,. The others were born afterwards. Our youngest is a US citizen but they made a mistake on his birth certificate and said he is Philippino.
Our daughter is in the US army in Germany making a career. She has given permission for their adoption and also their father. He is jail for selling drugs.
The children are being taken care of by their grandmother in the Philippines. They do not have a lot of money and my oldest grandchild would like to come to the US for an education.
We come from a small area and noone knows what to do. Even our people in our courthouse do not know. We had tried for six years to get our daughter here and never accomplished a thing all we did was lose thousands of dollars to the Philippines. Now we want our grandchildren but we do not want to spend a lot of money uselessly as we did with our daughter.
Our daughter joined the army and was told that she would be able to bring three of her children over. She did not tell them she had five because you can only have three to enlist; so she is afraid to go to her chaplin to get help because wants to make the army a career and thinks this will jeopardize her army career.
I was wondering what we can do and the cost if there is anything. Both my husband and I are retired and we would definitely be there for them. We also have two other children 27 and 28 that would also be a help and plus for our grandchildren.
Can you give us advice or tell us what we should do?
