My fiancee wants to adopt my two girls after we are married. The girls' biological father ( my ex husband ) does not pay child support, has not seen or spoken to them in 2 years and we are unable to locate him.( Girls are 4 1/2 & 8 1/2) I have even gone through child support enforcement with no luck. How hard will it be for my fiancee to adopt them (when we are married ) if we cannot find/contact the Bio. father? We're asking now, so that we know which route to take when it is time. Thank you for any help/advice. ( Virginia )

It sounds as if you have a good abandonment case. You will need to retain an attorney to make certain this is done by the books.

Humor is correct but you must first file to have him give up rights voluntarily. If that doesn't work, your attorney will then file for abandonment and then once that is all done, you get an ex parte ruling and then you can file for adoption.
