My best friend's daughter, who is in her 20's is pregnant and does not want to keep the baby. Both, my best friend and her daughter, came to my husband and I asked us to adopt the baby. The biological father wants nothing to do with the pregnancy. We are very close to this family, in fact they are just like our own family. We have been good friends for over 10 years. They said they wanted us to adopt the baby because they know that we are unable to have children and we would make wonderful parents. They said that by having us adopt the baby they will still be able to be close to the baby as it grows up.

Our question is this...Do we have to have a home study even though they came to us and we know eachother so well. We are from Minnesota.
