we live in sc. and my husbands ex lives in louisiana. she wants him to sign over all his rights to their 2 children so that her current husband can adopt. my question is will he have to continue to pay child support or back child support? also is it normal for them (ex's lawyer) to want/need information such as: drivers lic. #, occupation, religion, current marital status, etc. for the adoption forms/legal papers? please explain to me why they would need such info. thank you in advance for your help.

He will not have to pay future support, but is liable for past support. As to the information, why not ask the attorney? Just remember, the mother really wants this.. she will go out of her way to make this happen.
