I live in Tennessee and i am 27. My stepdad has wanted to adopt me for a while my real father has never been around and is not listed on my birth certificate. My mom and stepdad just completed the adoption process and on my new birth certificate they added his last name on to mine so i have 4 names M D J T. During the adoption process they put in "no name change requested" because i am now married. Since i got married i have went by my first name(M),my original last name(J), and my married name(B), My question is now that they added my stepdads last name onto my birth certificate and they put in for no requested name change do i have to go through the process of changing my ss card and so on and do i have to start putting my madien name as his last name since his is the last name onto my name? Sorry if i have confused anyone . Thank You

the answer is 4. well, you want to make sure he includes you in the will and the adoption papers. Your best bet may be to change everything to your new maiden name and keep your married name just for informal.
