To answer your question - Yes, we want it. We want it legal because family members have greater access and rights say towards certain areas then by law. For instance, my friend wants me to be her daughter's guardian should something happen to her. Her family would undoubtedly protest this. And beyond that, like I said, we want this. WHY DO PEOPLE GET MARRIED? Does it serve some purpose beyond that of love and commitment? That is just a piece of paper stating long-term relationship.
