What is the name of your state? NJ/SC

I am currently in college and have approx. 1 more year of schooling to recieve a degree in Resort tourism mgt. I orginally took this major because I one day would like to possibly own my own casino or other entertainment real estate. However I would also like to persue a law degree because thats what really interests me. I also am very interested in possibly purchasing, selling, developing, real estate. I guess my question is what is the a good way of going about doing all of these things? I would like to somehow involve resort tourism/real estate/law. Maybe a lawyer for a casino corporation or something who knows. I figure the law in real estate would make me alot more familiar with things when developing, buying, and purchasing. I was wondering what jobs i should take up to gain some experience and maybe if I should take any classes (if I'd need to go to school another year that wouldnt be a problem) that look good for law school or anything else that would help with real estate. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Do real estate lawyers usually do their own real estate investments?

Thanks alot

Q: Do real estate lawyers usually do their own real estate investments?

A: If they are smart, they do not.

BTW, if you intend to practice in SC, then go to law school down in SC. It is quite a closed legal community and getting tighter to get into every day.

why would u say that wats wrong with investin in real estate???
I didn't say anything like that.

You need some English reading and writing classes before you try to be a lawyer.

wow.

Was there a reason you were being an arrogant *******? I didn't need the English lecture I just wanted some information that apparently you can't give. Sorry I didn't write it carefully enough for your liking. I'll get the spell check and proofread next time. Good day.

Let's review . . .
You asked, "Do real estate lawyers usually do their own real estate investments?"
Seniorjudge answered, "If they are smart, they do not [handle their own closings, title searches, etc.]"
You responded to him without reading, "why would u say that wats wrong with investin in real estate???"
Seniorjudge did not say "don't invest", he just said don't handle the "paperwork" yourself.
I didn't find either seniorjudge or HomeGuru answers inappropriate, considering they answered your non legal question on this forum for legal advice. It is odd, don't you think, that you didn't read the advice very well and you responded in a post that had so many errors in it? (I found it humorous for a potential "law student" - I was envisioning your contracts!!!.)
There's good money in real estate investing! I buy only houses below market value (foreclosures) "flip" some of them at a profit, rent others at a profit, and love the appreciation on those I'm holding while my tenants make the payments for me!

And leave the ghetto crap behind. You ask a question in an intelligible form and you'll receive an answer. You pout and throw a tantrum like a 2 year-old and you can kiss our collective Missouri Mules.

Thanks and..

Thank you Linda I appreciate the clarification.

Seniorjudge did not say "don't invest", he just said don't handle the "paperwork" yourself.

He did not say that. He really didn't even imply that maybe you did but that's because you know something about the subject where as I do not, that’s the reason I asked the question. All they did is comment about my use of grammar and English, which I admit I did not try and do carefully, but I don't need lectured about it. But anyway thanks for clarifying what he meant.

Belize, ghetto crap?
At what point was anyone pouting? Statements aren’t pouting and the point was to be a smart ass because I felt the posts were arrogant, that is all.
