What is the name of your state?TX
We got our discharge in April. We are an asset case and the proofs of claim were due last month. I know the next thing that will happen is that the trustee will distribute assets and eventually the case will be closed. My question is that if this process drags in to the new year, and our case is not closed yet, can the trustee ask for our 05 tax returns or tax refund? My guess is that once the discharge comes through the rest is just getting the paperwork done on the trustees part and we are not really part of the process anymore, I just want to make sure of that. Thanks

If you got your discharge in April, its unlikely the Trustee will want your refund from your 2005 taxes, its well past the usual 'window'.

I agree

Its pretty unlikely the trustee will ask for anything more. Our lawer told us if nothing was asked for during your meeting of creditors and if the trustee was going to do something it would have been then also. The time from the meeting that 60 to 90 day window before the discharge is granted is the time to ask for more. After it is granted it is fairly unlikely unless information was withheld.

I am not a lawer just telling you the facts in my case..and from what I was told from my lawer because I asked that too.
