My wifes son moved to his fathers house. My wife was served with a summons/suit asking for cessation of child support, change of custody, and for her to pay for all attorneys fees.

We answered the summons that we would agree to custody change and to cessation of support, but that we were not in agreement to pay for his attorneys fees.

We went to the court date in front of judge and the plaintiffs attorney told the Judge that we had reached an Agreement. My wife just had a county lawyer who said pretty much nothing

My questions are since attorney said we had reached agreement can she still ask for attorneys fees? And wife was told next step is Mediation, can you tell me what mediation is usually for?

Thank You

Mediation is for the parties to have an opportunity to work out an agreement. I am not sure why the judge is sending it to mediation if the judge believes that an agreement has been worked out.

Its pretty much too late for her to ask for attorney fees.

I know that there is a few things outstanding 1. is how much my wife has to pay in child support which father is asking for 2. she needs to return all child support since day son moved out which she has said she will, shes been getting it thru the state directly from EXs paycheck. They have requested from her Paystubs, tax returns, bank statements etc.

thanks again
