I've just quit my job . Im a mortgage originator. the copany I worked for gave me access to online sales leads, that they paid for,and I agreed to pay 2/3's of the price. I bought leads today, and then I quit. I would like to pay them what I owe, but I was told they are now going to press charges!?! Can they do that!?! Or do I now have to wait till they sue me. Iwork and live in the city of Portland, the State of Maine. I was paid commission only. can they realy send me to jail!?!

Of course no one can answer your question with any accuracy as we don't what, if any, agreement you had as to your employment, commissions, and/or purchasing of the 'leads'.

jetx, My employment was "commission only" they also had a draw. I had a verbable agreement, along with a written one, stating I would pay for 2/3's of all my leads. I recieved 35.% of all origination fees,as payment of my employment, as per our agreement. I purchased the leads on line with an account in my name, paid with my boss's credit card.
