I live in Nebraska - no fault divorce state. Divorced from ex-wife after 14.5 years of marriage. Judge ordered alimony paid to ex-wife over 5 years. I also pay child support for a teenage daughter. The ex-wife is living with her fiance (person whom she had affair with that caused divorce) - they share checking accounts and credit cards and her name is on the house. I fear they will not marry until the alimony runs out (39 more months). Can I request a termination of alimony on grounds she is living in a common law marriage?

It would be my guess that your ex and her fiance plan to be married in 39 more months. Women who receive spousal support for a stated period of time or until they remarry seldom marry before the time elapses.

You can't request a change in alimony because she's living in a common law relationship because Nebraska doesn't have common law marriage.
