i was divorced 7 months ago after a 33 year marriage, and the court ordered my ex-husband to pay $500.00 a month permanent alimony. since that time, alimony has been consistently late by as much as 12 days. I need this money for rent as i am unable with the small income i get as a private school teacher to rely on any other income. my ex says that if i take him to court he would probably get the court to drop the alimony completely. i do not know what to do.

re: alimony late

You may be dependent on your ex for financial support, but do you think you should depend on him for advice? I think not. Please stand up for yourself and find out independently whether the court can reduce or eliminate support payments. Good Luck to you!
