I am in Georgia. I am trying to find out if my ex deserves alimony or not. After our divorce she was granted alimony, but within one month after the divorce she had moved in with another man, and within a month of that, they were then married, does that lift her rights to alimony? Or do I still owe? She also made a verbal agreement not to ask or accept alimony because of the new husband.

You should be able to have it cancelled. I'm surprised your court order doesn't clarify this though!

During taxi, the crew of a US Air departure flight to Ft. Lauderdale made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727. The irate ground controller (a female) lashed out at the US Air crew screaming "US Air 2771, where are you going? I told you to turn right on 'Charlie' taxi way; you turned right on 'Delta'. Stop right there. I know it's difficult to tell the difference between C's and D's but get it right".

Continuing her lashing to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically, "God, you've screwed everything up; it'll take forever to sort this out. You stay right there and don't move until I tell you to. You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about a half hour and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you, and how I Tell you. You got that, US Air 2771??"

Naturally, the 'ground control' frequency went terribly silent until an unknown male pilot broke the silence and asked, "Wasn't I married to you once?"

My own words, well not my own

After I asked my question, I went to the "Official Code of Georgia Annotated" and did a wide search on alimony and child support. For most people whom has had any questions reguarding, really any issue in their state, look for the "Official Code of (your state) Annotated", or Unannotated. Most staes have them on-line, as with Georgia.

It States:

19-6-5-8B

"All obligations for permanent alimony, however created, the time for peformance of which has not arrived, shall terminate upon remarriage of the party to whom the ligations are owed unless otherwise provided."

So enough said, thank you all for your help and I hope I can offer any insight or information I have.
