What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
Hello Everyone, I am a floridian now for 4 years and would like to vote. Problem is being a convicted felon in Missouri back in 2000 (2nd degree assault) served 1 year on a five year sentence and released early from parole in 2004. I contacted the florida state library and was told that I need to have my rights restored in Mo before i can vote here in florida and was directed to the Clemency Office in Missouri for this information. So i get on they're website and from what I gather there is after a person completes thier sentence and parole or probation and pays all fees and fines and I believe a two year wait after that, that thier rights are automatically restored, I have been all over the internet trying to find out this info, I started to fill out a clemency or pardon application but if this is not neccessary I dont want two wait 18 months for them to complete it to find this out. just would like a simple answer to this it all seems so overwhelming

Thank You

rights can be restored

after a conviction. Voting rights in some cases ... contact your registar or democratic county/state organization. No pardon needed.

Gun rights .... maybe.. its a new issue noted in the McDonald v. Chicago handgun case. Its new, no idea how to effect this one

depends on the state you live in **************
